New Year - New Addition

This coming holiday season, the Stone household will be introducing a new addition; Baby Stone.

The surprise of this pregnancy overwhelmed both Brian and I for a couple of months. In fact, we didn't tell ANYONE until after our first trimester. Not because we were not excited or filled with joy... but because we were a bit nervous and weren't really sure how to approach the situation.

A little background information, after Brian and I got married, we started trying to grow our family. Unfortunately, I had some health issues come about including a liver and a gall bladder issue that landed me in the hospital for 5 days. A few weeks after my stay in the hospital and stint surgery I had my gall bladder removed.

The stress of the wedding and the physical stress my body endured after the wedding caused some issues when trying to conceive (TTC). August of 2006, I was diagnosed with a very light PCOS condition. The doctors prescribed me Metformin, Provera and Clomid to help get things going...

We took clomid for 6 months and still had no luck. After the sixth month, Brian and I decided we would take a break from TTC. March of 2007, our first wedding anniversary month and second month w/o clomid, we conceived Alexandra and Grayson!! Yay!!

Now, since we had so many issues getting pregnant the first time, Brian and I chose not to use any type of prescribed contraceptive. We also made a decision for me not to go back on Metformin and Provera since I was having regular cycles.

Our "plan" was to start TTC in December of 2009... that way if it took us awhile or if it was immediate, the twins would be almost 3 or 3 and would be able to attend preschool a couple of days a week...

Well, the Lord had other plans for us and in March of 2009 we conceived Baby Stone.

We have not found out the sex of this baby, nor do we plan to. We have a lot of things from when the twins were babies that the new baby will be able to use including the infant carrier, swing, CLOTHES, etc. The only thing I have been keeping my eye on is a Combi Helio stroller on Craigslist. And of course the necessities; DIAPERS hahaha.

Our due date has fluctuated a couple of times. Our first appointment, our due date was 12-31-2009. Our second two sonograms were showing 12-21-2009. Our Ob/ GYN Dr. Barbara Coulter-Smith D.O. said we were going to go with the first due date as it is the most accurate.

Last week, I had an exam and my glucose test. Glucose test was NORMAL!! Yay. However, the nurse practioner said Baby Stone was measuring almost 30 weeks... So we will see how things go.

Also, for those of you who have 3 under 3 or 3 under 2 or twins with a singleton... PLEASE, share your advice :)

Congratulations! We too struggled w/ infertility. It took a year and clomid to get our daughter. Then I took clomid 2 months to get our son. They are 2 yrs apart exactly. I was breastfeeding and with all our history I really didn't think I could get pregnant and keep it on my own. Well in March we too found out we were expecting. It has been a healthy pregnancy. I am excited but scared. The first 2 turned 3 and 1 in July. So my son will only be 16 months when the baby comes and my daughter will just be over 3. I just tell myself it has to work out. Right? Take care and congratulations!
